The School of Commerce and Management, D Y Patil International University (DYPIU) successfully organised Onam Celebrations 2026 on 26 August 2026, providing students with an opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural traditions associated with Onam while fostering creativity, teamwork, inclusivity and community spirit. The competition was evaluated on key parameters including creativity and originality, use of colours and flowers, intricacy of design, adherence to the theme and cultural relevance, neatness and finish, and overall visual impact. The judging process provided participants with an opportunity to showcase not only their artistic abilities but also their ability to work effectively as a team and translate an idea into a visually appealing final product. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished members of the University. Dr. Madhavi Deshpande, Director-SoCM & Dean – Faculty of Non-Engineering, and Dr. Madhura Jagtap, Dean – Student Welfare, were present and encouraged the students through their participation and support. Dr. Anania Arjuna, Deputy Registrar , and Ms. Nutan Kanth, Sr. Psychologist and Counsellor, served as judges for the Pookalam Competition. The event was organised by Dr. Anuradha Patil and Dr. Shipra Arora, who facilitated the planning and execution of the celebrations and ensured active student participation. Dr. Atul Pise, Associate Director, and Dr. Priyanka Dhoot, HoD, were also present and extended their support towards the successful organisation of the event.
