Program Overview
OVERVIEW:
DYPIU offers B.F.A. Applied Arts, an undergraduate Fine Arts course for those who have a bent towards creativity and artistic skills. It covers a wide range of subjects and topics that are essential for aspirants to learn who wish to establish a career in applied arts. The 4 years long course has 8 semesters in total which are divided into core and elective categories. The first two years covers the syllabus from core category and are called foundation years; after the completion of foundation years the students can choose between any of the two tracks i.e. Print & Publication Design or Retail and Display Design.
B.F.A. Applied Arts covers topics like Advertising, Calligraphy, Identity Design, Visual Scripting, Graphic Designing, etc. To ensure that the students remain updated with new media and emerging technologies DYPIU also included a module called Fab Lab in this course where students develop advanced skills in 3D printing, CNC cutting, laser etching, sublimation printing, etc.
Course Structure
The curriculum of the B.F.A. Applied Arts program is designed to be relevant to the needs of the industry as well as the society in both the local and global context. We adopt a holistic approach in our teaching by emphasizing on project work and providing industry exposure via internships, industry projects, as well as visits to companies, advertising and design houses as well as print and production units. Regular interactions with industry experts will help build a bridge between the students and the industry.
The B.F.A. Applied Arts program is a four-year full-time program with the first two years consisting of foundational courses as part of a common curriculum. After completing the first two years, students can opt to specialize in a track of their choice for the remaining two years.

Eligibility and Fees
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Passed 10 + 2 or equivalent examination with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidate as per Maharashtra state government rules) and English as a passing subject.
- Students with scores of any of valid MAH AAC CET (Maharashtra Applied Arts and Crafts Common Entrance Test) and any other equivalent competitive examination are eligible to apply.
- Personal Interview conducted by School of Applied Arts at DYPIU Akurdi.
- The Candidate must present their Portfolio of Art works.
FEES STRUCTURE
- Tuition fee - Rs. 75,000/- per semester
- Registration fee - Rs. 2,500/- per semester
- Caution Deposit - Rs. 10,000/- (refundable at the end of the program)
