The DYPIU ACM Student Chapter - UTKARSH, School of Computer Science Engineering & Applications of D Y Patil International University, Pune, has organised "Paper2Prototype" event on 12 September 2026 at the university's J Block, with the goal of pushing students beyond textbook research into real-world prototyping and entrepreneurial thinking. Each team was given a research paper 24 hours in advance and tasked with understanding its core problem, building a solution inspired by it, and pitching that solution as both a technical prototype and a business idea. The day opened with a formal inaugural ceremony attended by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Manish Bhalla, Registrar Prof. Dr. Beeran Modin, Director SoCSEA Prof. (Dr.) Rahul Sharma, Associate Professor Dr. Maheshwari Biradar and other senior faculties, followed by a keynote from Guest Speaker Dr. Shrikant Salve from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Pune on "Research Unlocked: From Curiosity to Research Paper." Participants then moved through a warm-up quiz, an hour-long PPT-building sprint, and an AI-score-based shortlisting round before presenting to domain-expert judging panels in Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Quantitative Finance, and Bioengineering — each round including a live Q&A with judges.
