The BBA LL.B. (Artificial Intelligence Applications) is a five-year, ten-semester integrated programme offered by the School of Legal Studies at D. Y. Patil International University. It combines legal education, management education, artificial intelligence and domain analytics in a single degree. It is designed for a professional world where law, business and technology increasingly overlap. The University has received approval from the Bar Council of India (BCI).
The first six semesters form a common foundation. Students study core law (contracts, constitutional law, torts, company law, crimes, property, jurisprudence and more) alongside management (principles of management, accounting, economics, marketing, finance, HR, statistics). AI and digital competence are built in from Semester II through courses such as Introduction to AI, Legal Data Analytics & Visualization, AI Tools for Legal Research, Cyber Law & Data Privacy, and AI & Law: Ethics, Bias and Regulation.
From Semester VII, students choose one of four specialization tracks:
Year 5 is devoted to advanced specialization, a capstone project and a professional internship. The programme carries inputs across core law, core management, AI & digital law, track specialization, and internship, project and research components.
Practical training - Four clinical papers (Professional Ethics & Professional Accounting; ADR; Drafting, Pleading & Conveyance; Moot Court Exercise & Internship) run through Years 4 and 5. Non-credit Moot Court Training runs alongside the semesters.
Students choose one of four Honours groups. All eight papers (3 credits each) from the chosen group are taught across Semesters V, VI, VII and X.

The B.A. component covers history, political science, economics, English and a foreign language. The LL.B. component covers the core law papers, electives, practical training and dissertation. Both are taught together as one integrated degree.

Each course carries 100 marks, split equally between internal assessment and the university examination. Internal assessment includes a faculty-evaluated component, a mid-semester examination and attendance. Practical papers use written submissions and a viva voce.
You need at least 75% attendance to sit the end-semester examination.
Under the ATKT rules, a student who passes at least two-thirds of the required subjects can move on to the next year and clear the remaining papers later. The rules are strict about moving from one year to the next.
