Note:
- Only persons with the purpose of studying in India and entering
the country on STUDENT VISA AND RESEARCH VISA shall be eligible
to apply for admission to a particular course.
- A foreign national with Admission Letter, can apply for a
Student Visa in the Indian Consulate / Embassy (as per the
Resolution dated June 1, 2004, issued by the Department of
Secondary & Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource
Development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI), NOC is not
required for foreign nationals who wish to pursue their higher
studies in India in all institutions / university departments
offering technical courses leading to Diploma, Degree and
Post-Graduate Degree in Engineering & Technology, Architecture &
Town Planning, Pharmacy, Applied Arts, MBA, MCA, Hotel
Management & Catering Technology, etc.).
- Foreign students seeking admission to Ph.D program must obtain
RESEARCH VISA from Government of India, Ministry of Home
Affairs.
Step 5: DYPIU Clearance to Travel
Following documents to be submitted for Clearance to Travel
- Medical fitness certificate from public hospital
- Vaccination certificate (Covid19, Hepa B, Yellow Fever)
- Financial undertaking either a letter of recommendation from the
Govt. certifying that the fees will be paid by the Govt or a
letter from the sponsor that the sponsoring body or the person
would cover the students tuition fees, living expenses, and
other costs for the duration of the stay.
- Student Visa copy
- Submit Travel Itinerary
- Student recent bank statement showing a balance of US $1000
Step 6: Report at the DYPIU
- Travel to India and report at the campus
Step 7: Final Documents Verification, Registration & Enrollment
- Submit original documents for verification
- Submit all required original attested documents for university
records.
- 6 copies of Color Passport Photos (studio clicked)
- Complete enrollment process.
- Foreigners Regional Registration (for international students).
Step 8: Foreigners Regional Registration(FRR)

International students: Students are required to
register their stay in India within 14 days of arrival.
Overseas Citizen of India Cardholders: Have certain
privileges and are exempt from FRRO registration.
However, they still need:
- Form C: This form is generated by an Indian
citizen or the owner of the residence where the student is
staying. It's a way of reporting the foreigner's stay to the
authorities. The student cannot generate this form themselves.
- Form S: Provided by the college office, this
form is necessary for students to officially confirm their
enrollment and residence.
Step 9: Document requirements for Foreigners Regional Registration
- Valid passport of student with at least six months validity.
- Student visa copy.
- University admission letter to the student.
- Bonafide letter to confirm the student enrollment to the program
(to be requested as per process from the Office of Registrar
student section).
- Fee Payment Receipt to confirm the payment for tuition fees.
- Hostel Confirmation Letter or Proof of Residence Address
(Utility bill, bank statement, or any official document
indicating the student’s local address).
- Health insurance covering the student’s stay in the country.
- Vaccination certificate (Covid-19, Hepatitis B, Yellow Fever).
- Recent passport-size photographs (2 to 4 copies).
- Previous Academic Transcripts and certificates.
- Financial Proof: Financial undertaking either a letter of
recommendation from the Government certifying that the fees will
be paid by the Government or a letter from the sponsor
confirming that the sponsoring body or person would cover the
student’s tuition fees, living expenses, and other costs for the
duration of the stay.
- Student’s recent bank statement showing a balance of US $1000.
Step 10: Residential Permit
- Residential permit will be issued by the concerned FRRO for a
period of maximum one year or visa expiry date, whichever is
earlier
- Residential permit / stay visa shall be renewed / extended at
least one month prior to the expiry of the current RP/RC/Stay
Visa. The students have to comply with the same.
- Any change in residential address / course / college / passport
of international student should be registered online immediately
by the student concerned.
- International Students have to submit copy of the RC/RP to
DYPIU.
Pre and Post Arrival Assistants
- Pre-arrival assistance: International student
will be guided at every step of the admission process and
provide useful tips on the visa processing, travel route, what
to pack, and what to expect when the students get here. Also
share cultural insights to help you settle in quickly and start
the academics. For any clarifications during the admission
process the student can contact the assigned Admission
Counsellor at fsc@dypiu.ac.in for
guidance and support.
- International arrivals: The team will support
airport pick up every year for all international students. This
service usually operates from Pune International Airport to
DYPIU.

Post arrival assistance:
- The international students are assisted with settling in
the hostel, FRR registration, adapting to local life,
understanding cultural differences, guidance on opening
bank accounts, getting a mobile phone plan, and
navigating public transportation.
- Social activities are organized to help the
International students meet other students and integrate
into campus life.
- To ensure that the student have smooth and supported
experience at DYPIU the student services focus on
health, wellbeing, and personal needs.
- Induction and welcome events: International
students are introduced to the resources available at the
campus. Meet with the department Director and faculty members,
assigned academic mentors, and fellow students, making it easier
to navigate your first steps at the university. A campus tour to
help you familiarize with the key facilities at the campus like
libraries, IT, and student support departments.
- Peer Mentoring: International students are
paired with Peer mentors who will be the senior students to
offer guidance on university life, academics, social
integration, and personal development.
- Academic Mentoring: Academic Mentors
(experienced faculty) are assigned to International students who
provide support in study strategies, course selection, and
academic challenges, helping students achieve long-term academic
success.
