D. Y. Patil International University, Akurdi, Pune, proudly congratulates Ms. Rukhsar Nisar Shaikh, a DYPIU student, on her outstanding achievement as the Captain of the Indian Women’s Roll Ball Team at the India vs Sri Lanka Open Roll Ball Championship 2026, held at the Airport Sports Complex, Minuwangoda, Sri Lanka, from 18 to 20 September 2026. Leading the Indian Women’s Team as Captain in the Senior Women’s Category, Rukhsar demonstrated strong leadership, excellent sporting skills, determination and team spirit. Under her captaincy, Team India secured First Place and won the Gold Medal at the championship. This remarkable international achievement is a proud moment for D Y Patil International University and highlights the sporting talent, leadership qualities and competitive spirit of DYPIU students. The championship was organised by the Roll Ball Federation of Sri Lanka, under the aegis of the Asian Roll Ball Federation and International Roll Ball Federation, and recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Sri Lanka. The university management congratulated Ms. Rukhsar Nisar Shaikh for her outstanding performance and leadership as the Captain of Team India. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Sir, Registrar Sir, and Dean of Student Welfare, Dr. Madhura Jagtap, appreciated her remarkable international achievement and her representation of both India and DYPIU on the international stage. They expressed their appreciation for her dedication and encouraged her to continue striving for excellence in her sporting career. The achievement also reflects the efforts of the DYPIU Sports Department in identifying, supporting and promoting sporting talent and providing students with opportunities to compete at national and international levels.
