Diksharambh – Induction Programme 2026–27 | DYPIU Diksharambh – Induction Programme 2026–27 D. Y. Patil International University (DYPIU), Pune, welcomed its new batch of students with Diksharambh – Induction Programme 2026–27, a two-day programme designed to familiarise students with the University’s academic culture, institutional values, learning opportunities and future-oriented vision. Welcoming the New Cohort Welcoming the new students and distinguished guests, Prof. (Dr.) Manish Bhalla, Vice Chancellor, DYPIU, highlighted the University’s strong emphasis on innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship. He also underlined the rich legacy of the D. Y. Patil Group and its pioneering contribution to technical and medical education. Shri Tejas Patil, Trustee, DYP Pratishthan, highlighted DYPIU’s globally connected learning environment and its commitment to innovative teaching and learning practices that extend beyond conventional classroom education. He emphasised the University’s focus on integrating technology, innovation, research and industry engagement to prepare students for a rapidly evolving world. Day One: Inspiration, Purpose and Holistic Learning The first day of the programme featured an inspiring address by Padma Vibhushan awardee and renowned classical dancer Dr. Sonal Mansingh. She encouraged students to pursue their passions with dedication, embrace lifelong learning and strive for balance and harmony in their personal and professional lives. She also emphasised the importance of humanities alongside STEM education in developing well-rounded individuals. Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Founder and Chairman, EKA Mobility, Pune, urged students to reflect on the kind of individuals they aspire to become. Encouraging them to cultivate determination, ambition and a strong sense of purpose, he observed that there has never been a better time to be young in India. He also highlighted the educational legacy and contribution of the D. Y. Patil Group. Day Two: Curiosity and the Future of Technology The second day of Diksharambh 2026–27 featured Shri Neeraj Kansal, Chief Commissioner, Central GST & Customs, Pune Zone, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the students, Shri Kansal encouraged them to remain curious, question established ideas and approach their future with an open mind. Urging students to become active and independent learners, Shri Kansal said: “Ask better questions. Don’t be a passive consumer of information.” He also spoke about the transformative impact of artificial intelligence, robotics and quantum computing and encouraged students to prepare themselves for emerging opportunities in a rapidly changing technological landscape. Distinguished Guests and University Officials The programme was attended by the Deans of the Faculties of Engineering and Non-Engineering, Prof. Yogesh D. Brahmankar, Adviser, CIIE, DYPIU, along with university officials, faculty members and guests. A Meaningful Beginning Diksharambh 2026–27 marked the beginning of an enriching academic journey for the new cohort, introducing students to a learning environment centred on knowledge, innovation, creativity, curiosity, purpose and holistic development.
