D Y Patil International University (DYPIU) has been conferred the prestigious "Platinum Sustainable Campus Partner" recognition for its outstanding commitment to sustainability through a series of impactful initiatives conducted during Earth Week (22–29 April 2026).
The recognition was awarded under the Bharat Environment Program – A Bharat Sustainability Mission 2026, a nationwide initiative organized in collaboration with the Environment Protection Training & Research Institute (EPTRI), the State Climate Action Nodal Agency. The program promotes sustainability awareness, institutional best practices, green campus initiatives, student engagement, environmental leadership, and campus transformation aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The activities at DYPIU were spearheaded by the Centre for Climate Resilience, Water Innovation and Green Solution (CRWIGS). During Earth Week, a wide range of sustainability-focused events were organized with active participation from faculty members and students representing ROTRACT, the National Service Scheme (NSS), and various schools of the University.
The university-level coordination of the program was carried out by Dr. Priyanka Dhoot and Dr. Shailesh Ghodke, Centre In-Charges of CRWIGS. In recognition of these efforts, DYPIU received the Platinum Sustainable Campus Partner Award, presented by the Research Heights Foundation (RHF) at Hyderabad on 1 June 2026. The award was received by Dr Shailesh Ghodke, Centre incharge and Prof Sunil Dambare, Director-IQAC during award ceremony.
Congratulating the team on this remarkable achievement, Chancellor Dr. Sanjay D. Patil and Vice Chancellor Prof. Manish Bhalla appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Centre for Climate Resilience, Water Innovation and Green Solution in fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and advancing the University's commitment to sustainable development.
