Three students from the Department of Chemical Engineering, School of Engineering, Management & Research (SoEMR), have achieved notable success at SCHEMCON 2026, an international conference held at MIT Academy of Engineering, Alandi, Pune, on 11 th –12 th September 2026. The conference was organized by the IIChE Student Chapter of MIT Academy of Engineering in association with the IIChE Pune Regional Centre, providing a prestigious platform for students, academicians, researchers, and industry professionals to exchange knowledge and present innovative ideas in chemical engineering. Ms. Aarohi Gadpayle secured the First Prize in the Paper Presentation Competition, receiving a trophy and a cash prize of ₹15,000 for her outstanding paper presentation. Adding another achievement to the department's success, Ms. Mahi Patil and Mr. Bhavya Maroyi received a Consolation Prize, including a trophy and medals, for their exceptional performance in the Paper Presentation Competition. A total of 21 students from the Department of Chemical Engineering participated in the conference. Their participation provided them with valuable exposure to current developments in the field, opportunities to exchange ideas, interact with academicians, industry experts and fellow students, and showcase their capabilities on a national and international professional platform.
