School of Computer Science Engineering and Applications (SoCSEA), D Y Patil International University, Akurdi, Pune organized a social outreach activity “Traffic Mitra” at Sant Tukaram Maharaj Bridge Signal, Ravet. The activity focused on creating awareness about traffic rules, helmet usage, pedestrian safety, and responsible road practices among citizens. Students actively participated and supported the initiative by assisting in traffic awareness activities and promoting safe commuting practices. The key objective of this initiative was to encourage students towards social responsibility, community engagement, and leadership while supporting local traffic management activities. The activity helped enhance public awareness regarding road safety and provided students with practical exposure to teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and civic responsibilities. The initiative was aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, contributing towards safer and sustainable communities. The activity was successfully conducted with the continuous guidance and support of Hon’ble Dr. Manish Bhalla Sir (Vice Chancellor, DYPIU), Dr. Anupama Patil Ma’am (Dean – Faculty of Engineering), and Dr. Rahul Sharma Sir (Director – SoCSEA). The activity was coordinated by Dr. Amol Dhakne, Associate Professor, SoCSEA, DYPIU, Akurdi, Pune.
