B. Sc Biotechnology

Program Objectives
  • Have capacity to work or participate in the institutions specialized in pharmacy, agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, food industry and microbial products used for environmental issues. The graduate can work as expert, technician, and researcher as well as pursue teaching job with higher education.
  • To impart basic knowledge and skills of various aspects of biotechnology
  • To train the students for industrial need and to pursue further education
  • To inculcate entrepreneurship among the students so as to start their own ventures in the field of biotechnology
Program Description

Biotechnologists are at the forefront of the continuous search to find more compatible and target oriented effective products in the field of Agriculture, Pharmaceuticals, Serological, Neutraceuticals and sustainable food sources. They can work in various work environments like industrial sector, environmental sector, medical sector, food manufacturing, health-care and pharmaceuticals. Bachelors of Science in Biotechnology is designed to enable students to study the cellular and bimolecular processes for development of a variety of technologies and products that contribute to improving people’s lives and health. Students will be able to assimilate to various disciplines like Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Environment Conservation, Genetic Engineering, Healthcare, Medicine and Pharmaceuticals.

Eligibility Criteria
  • A Minimum aggregate score of 45% in the class XII exam, with Biology, Physics & Chemistry as main subject.
  • Valid score in National Level & State Level or any other equivalent UG Entrance Exam.

Selection Procedure

Selection of the candidate is based on average of marks secured in the final merit i.e. total aggregate marks in 10+2 equivalent examination and marks of entrance exam. Admissions will be strictly as per inter se merit.
