Robotics and AI

Robotics and AI deals with building "Smart Robots" that can interact with its environment using unsupervised learning, skill acquisition, active learning, exploration and reinforcement. Smart Robots have applications in several fields including manufacturing, healthcare, and transportation. Companies like Amazon and Flipkart are using Smart Robots to manage their warehouses cutting down the costs and increasing the efficiency. Driverless cars is another example of Smart Robotics that is taking the world by storm.

 

Opportunities

Companies like Amazon and Flipkart are offering starting salaries of Rs. 12 - 18 lakhs per annum (LPM) for graduates with skills in Robotics and AI. Companies are offering Rs. 50 LPM for candidates with 5+ years of experience and Robotics and AI experts enjoy salaries in range of Rs. 1 crore per annum. Salaries for AI/ML experts in USA can reach up to Rs. 5 crore per annum. Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru and Noida have the highest number of job openings in Robotics and AI field. Course Curriculum

In the fifth semester, students are introduced to Robotic Engineering and Applications of Robotics through courses "Introduction to Robotic Engineering" and "Intelligent Robotic Applications". In sixth semester, students explore how to build Robots in courses "Advanced Robotic Engineering", "Sensors, Actuators and Smart Environments" and "AI for Mobile Robots". In seventh semester, students are given a system level perspective of Robotic systems and advanced Robotics and AI through courses "Real-time Systems", "HPC (Data Processing) for AI", "Human Computer Interaction" and "Novel Applications of Intelligent Robots". In the eight semester students test the skills they acquired on a real-work Robotics and AI project.

In Robotics and AI, students teach robots to predict what happens when robots move objects around, in order to learn about the world around them and make better, safer decisions without supervision. Students will also apply advances in deep learning to robot motion planning, navigation, and the exciting and demanding world of self-driving cars and such to improve their safety and reliability. Experts in Robotics and AI, command salaries of about Rs. 1 crore per annum. By learning about Robotics and AI today, you will be ready for the opportunities of tomorrow.
