How many research projects do I need to do? Do I have to do projects in the University? Or can it be done elsewhere?
For fulfillment of your post-graduation you are given the option of doing two projects in the final year in semester 3 and semester 4.
There are three prime focus areas of projects and you can opt for any of these based on your interest:
1. Societal/Rural and Small Industry problem based projects: These projects will cater to the real life problems and will expose the students to ground level issues of the world
2. Industrial projects: This project will be done to solve an industry problem which may be possible using a known method
3. Research Projects: These projects will allow students to work on solving a problem using new methodology or applying a known methodology to solve a problem in a new application area.
During the semester breaks, students can perform internships in or outside of the University. However, during the first two semesters, students are advised to do the internships in the University to ease their attendance in the class and lab-work.
How are project 1 and project 2 different? Can I do a single project in both the semesters?
You are given the option to do two projects; a small project/ dissertation in semester 3 and a full semester project/ dissertation/ industrial training in 4the semester. You also have an option to continue the 3rd semester project in the next semester.
